Panchagani - Kaas

It's nearly end of September and Orchid season is in full swing. I packed my bag, clubbed all my camera kit and started my journey towards Panchagani, a beautiful and serene hill station in Satara district about 95 Kms. towards south from Pune. I started my journey on Thursday at around 8 AM and it took me about 1 hour and 30 minutes to our resort. Resort was good and after a short rest I got it to my car and started my hunt of beautiful flowers in the region.

The first place I visited was the famous Table Land about 2 kms from my resort. It was very foggy and I was a bit disappointed due to less light as I was not expecting it at this hour. I did not get any luck on the first day as the weather turned bad and it rained a lot and I had to pack my stuff and had to go back to my room.

The next morning I started early with just a cup of tea and again went to table land but this time even though it was foggy, it wasn't too bad. Whole Table land was deserted and there were just dogs and few horses grazing around. I could not stop clicking some of their moods and actions. It was hazzy but they were all enjoying the place. I kept walking towards the edge of the cliff and I saw a bed of beautiful Orchids ahead. Soil was slippery because of morning dews and I carefully cautiously walked towards the cliffs.
I captured some nice flowers in my camera and enjoyed beautiful weather. It then started getting crowded as tourists started pouring in. I thought of leaving the place before I see everyone crushing the beautiful Orchids. I started my Journey towards Mahabaleshwar up ahead towards west from Panchagani.
